Dr. Dave's new DVD series release "The Video Encyclopedia of Pool Shots"
I'm very excited to announce the release of the first DVD in an instructional series I've been working on with Tom Ross this past year. The series is called: The Video Encyclopedia of Pool Shots. If you are interested in checking it out, I have a video trailer for the entire series near the bottom of the page here:
http://www.dr-dave-billiards.com/veps/The first disc, which includes 1 hour and 27 minutes of video, covers basic shot making and position play. Video excerpts for a collection of shots from the DVD can be viewed online here:
http://www.dr-dave-billiards.com/veps/disc_I.htmlHere's the outline of the entire series, and here's the complete list of shot categories included on Disc I. The series includes over 750 shot categories within 50 different major categories, with over 250 "gems" of the game. We think, and we hope you agree, that the series is the most comprehensive collection of useful pool shots ever published (and demonstrated).
I think Tom and I made a good team for this project because he is an experienced player, coach, and instructional columnist, and I have more skills on the understanding, illustration, and explanation side of things. I hope you guys like our stuff. We have worked really hard on this project ... months of planning, months of filming, and months of editing and production. It has truly been a labor of love.
Please check out all of the video clips online. Also, if you think the series might be of interest to others, please help spread the word.
Thank you for your time,
Dr. Dave
Thanks Dr. Dave, for all the Great Instructional Products!!

KF Cue Tour Kicks Off New Season in Jacksonville, FL Oct. 3-4 2009
KF Cue Tour Kicks Off New Season
9/18/2009 -
The Kf Cue Tour is excited to announce the dates for the first 12 events for 2009/2010 season. The tour has been working very hard to pencil in dates and avoid clashing our events with any others on the tournament calendar.
We are very excited to announce that our Amateur players have been rewarded for their support with the prize money being raised to $1000 Added. The Amateur events will now take place on Saturdays and depending on the size of the field we will bring the finals back Sunday morning. All Amateur players will now receive a discounted entry into Sundays Open events which we are hoping will encourage them to participate. All high level Amateur players will be given a 1 or 2 rack handicap which can be adjusted throughout the season for more information contact Tony Crosby at www.kfcuetour.com
We will kick off the season at Bankshot Billiards in Jacksonville, Florida where we had one the biggest events of the first season with over 130 players competing over the two days. This will be the first of 22 planned events for the season. We are still scheduling events for 2010 so if you or your pool room are interested contact the KF cue Tour for more info.

Check out our Cue Repair Event Video
Hey Everybody,
We had a great time at this year's LTC Tournament at Park Avenue Billiards in Orange Park, Fl. David from was there with the big lathe doing repairs to tips, ferrules and wraps. We had a variety of Custom Dime Cues and some other accessories. We had flyers, cards and discounts to the web-store. We had fun this year watching some great friends play some really great pool and getting to play some pool ourselves.
The Park Avenue pool hall was great to us. They were very accommodating and we really appreciated them letting us set up. We really think the players liked the fact that they could get their tips dome and get a cleaning and feel confident that their cue was in the best shape for the tournament. We were there for the entire 5 days June 10- June15, it was a great time and cant wait to do it again. We will be setting up at some other local Jacksonville and surrounding area Pool Halls so if you want us to come to your pool just let us know.
As always, THANK YOU, every one who supported their local cue repair specialist.

Finally...we have a great camers to show you great pics of our cues
We finally upgraded our camera to a Cannon- Digital Rebel XS. It has 10.1 Megapixels and hopefully will make our amateur photography seem professional. We had to upgrade because we really wanted you to have better pictures of our cues to look at. We have been making cues with 8 points using some exotic wood with some very noticble grains. Without a good camera they look like any other cue, which they are definitely not. Our cues are handcrafted with the finest materials and a unique passion that goes into each cue. The new camera will also allow us to send high quality images to our customers that are customizing their own cue. This way you can see the cue in progress....in a high resolution.
Below we have included some of the cameras that we debated about. We highly recomend the Cannon-EOS Digital Rebel XS we bought, it is super easy to use and affordable.
Check out what may work best for you!

2 More cues finished

Well, we have been so busy working on our custom cues and also doing a lot of cue repairs. David finished the Olivewood cue...WOW that turned out so nice. It wasn't finished more than a couple of hours and it was sold. Here are some pics of the Olivewood.
I will check back in with more updates. We are fervently working on the website, it seems that no matter how much we work on it there's always more to do.
Thanks for checking us out. The next blog will show the Kingwood cue.

WOW, what a week! The 9-Ball Tournament was this weekend at The Corner Pocket. It was a ton of fun. Dave took his lathe to the Pool Hall and set up to do repairs. He did a ton of repairs and we also raffeled off a cue.
The Goncalo Alves cue that David made is now proudly owned by Larry Klaybor and his son Collin.
Congratulations to our latest raffle winners Larry and Collin!
Collin (holding cue) and Larry Klaybor are the proud winners of a DIME Cue. We raffled the beautiful Goncalo-Alves cue off at our local APA Top Gun Tournament. The cue had a beautiful natural look with lots of grain and a black and walnut speckled wrap. We are so happy that Larry and Collin won-now we just have to worry that Collin (age 15) might just kick our butts in pool with our own cue stick….CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!
We met some great people this weekend. I met a lot of the Pirate Teams that all belong to the Pirate Fraternity. They have this really cool group of pool players that are all in this fraternity together. They have a creed, values such as: loyalty, unity, diversity, privacy, fraternity, and most importantly, party. They do a lot of community service and really stand for something good. I was really honored to meet a lot of the pirates and get to know more about their organization.
So....back to work after a long weekend of tournaments. I will post more later, including the winners of the tournament and where David will be set up next to do repairs.

Our trip to Anastasia Billiards
Hey everyone!
Yesterday we drove to St. Augustine to see my Grandmother at Flagler Hospital. Unfortunately she has broker her arm...in 2 places! Poor thing! She is 85 years old. Anyways, we decided to shoot over to Anastasia Billiards and play a couple of racks of pool. What a nice place that is. There was another family in there (which is nice to see that family time is still important to some) and some younger teen-age kids. The bartender Adam was really nice and so was the other gentleman (didn't catch his name)that greeted us and gave us our table. He did say the Anastasia had been there for about 6 years now and they seemed to be doing well! They had really nice pool tables and the place was clean. My bud light draft was foamy but cold and refreshing! We asked Adam to take our pic for our blog...My husband was probably embarrassed. Oh well, It was fun. Hopefully if they need any cue repair they will call.
Well I hope everyone had a fantastic New Years Eve and Day!
Wishing you all the best-
Krysta

Congratulations!

Congratulations Larry!
This year at the Corner Pocket Christmas Party we raffeled off one of our very own cues! Cue #9 was just recently finished and we decided to spread som Holiday Cheer and give this cue away. It was a great event because so many people supported not only The Corner Pocket but also gave the raffel a try. The tickets were 1 for $5 ro 3 for $10 and many people were buying $20 worth of tickets. We condered this a great turn out.
at about 11pm Homer picked a ticket and announced that Larry won! He was so excited ha came running up and gave my wife Krysta (who was doing the raffel while I played in the tournament)a huge hug. He was so excited and we thought that the cue was perfect for him.
The cue is Ebony with a black and white irish linen wrap and although we were sad to see it go, we know there will be more where that came from!
Well, this is my second post. I have so many things I want to post...but that will have to wait.
Thanks for checking in. I welcome any comments or feedback!
